Barbara Harvey has contributed 38 years of service to the Manatee County School System.
Barbara A. Harvey has served tirelessly on the Manatee County School Board for eight years. During her tenure, she's actively contributed to the success of Manatee County Schools. The board selected a proficient, competent, and knowledgeable Superintendent with the aggressiveness to move our system to the next level; received the state's first seal for sound fiscal accountability with recognition for our 2005 financial management; raised the graduation rate to 3rd in the state, and raised the average teacher salary to 4th in the state; and ensured that all members of the school system family were knowledgeable about the united focus of the schools by implementing the community and school staff recommended EdVantage program.
